Bio/Description
I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Chicago. I am interested in understanding how natural behaviors sculpt neural circuits through information processing and its extensions to end-to-end machine learning applications in natural language processing and computer vision. My research combines information theory, compartmental cable theory and variational autoencoding theory to uncover functional roles of neural circuitry features, and why they match computational needs of survival critical behaviors.
