Bio/Description
I grew up in Memphis, TN and received my PhD from Harvard University. My research focused on understanding virus self- assembly and how it can "go wrong". My current interests lie in understanding the fundamental physics of other biological processes. I earned a B.S. in Physics from Wesleyan University, where I was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar and went on to complete my master’s degree at Fisk University. My outreach efforts included founding an education non-profit (the Women+ of Color Project) and serving on the American Physical Society Council & Board of Executives, representing the Forum on Graduate Student Affairs.
