Bio/Description
I received my PhD in physics from University of California, Merced. I am interested in understanding the physics of materials which are composed of living organisms and how these physical mechanisms may have emerged by providing some beneficial biological function. In order to understand the underlying physical mechanisms of active materials and collective behaviors, I apply ideas from statistical mechanics and material physics to data gathered through experiments with bacteria colonies.
