Bio/Description

I am working with Prof. Schwab and am in the 2nd year of the physics PhD program. I am interested in theoretical questions related to deep learning and learning in general. In particular, I am interested in the generalization properties of overparameterized neural networks, and theoretical explanations for their “unreasonably good” performance, as measured from the point of view of classical statistics/learning theory. My research combines ideas from information theory, statistical mechanics, and computer science.
